White Scout Cars were one of the many versatile vehicles that were used by the Allies during World War II. They are a light armored wheeled vehicle with space for multiple mounted machine guns and a canvas top. Production of the M3A1 model began around 1940 and continued well into 1944. While most White Scout Cars were used by the U.S. Army, a large number were lent to the Soviet Union. A few scattered others saw service with Great Britain, the Free French Troops and even Belgian, Czechoslovakian and Polish units. White Scout Cars saw their first overseas combat action in the Philippines. They also aided U.S. Army cavalry units in the North African Campaign and during the Invasion of Sicily.
