Congratulations to Eric Hamada (a Hood River Valley High School Senior)! He was awarded a Flight Scholarship in April during the museum's Second Saturday event.

Dale Harris, Judy Newman and Scott Gifford present Eric Hamada his scholarship award. The Scholarship, totaling $2,750 this year, will enable Eric to solo (fly an airplane by himself).

Dale Harris of The Callas Trust approached WAAAM to help administer a scholarship to hard working, dedicated, young, aviation-minded, volunteer at WAAAM - someone with a passion for the world of flight. The initial funds of $2,000 were from the estate of Guss and Georgette Callas who started General Airways after WWII in Portland, Or. WAAAM donated $500 and Classic Wings Donated the books necessary to pass the written exam - a $250 value.

Congratulations Eric! The sky's the limit!
